Prior to founding Calibre, Candace practiced law for 12 years with Chevron.
Candace Baggett has served as President of the Houston Office Leasing Brokers Association (HOLBA) and is currently as trustee and co-chair of the Facilities Committee at the Contemporary Arts Museum Houston (CAMH).

Candace began her legal career in Chevron’s law department where she worked for 12 years. She was the lead attorney responsible for strategizing, negotiating, and documenting office and industrial transactions in a 14-state area. Her legal responsibilities included representing the company as a tenant/sublessor in multiple cities and as a landlord/owner in transactions totaling over 1,250,000 rentable square feet of Class A and B office space in Houston’s CBD and Westchase submarkets. In addition, Candace was responsible for discovering and ultimately recovering over $1 million in improperly charged operating expense pass-throughs following a detailed audit of the landlord’s expense records over a 2-year period. Because of her knowledge of environmental issues impacting real estate transactions, Candace was chosen to spearhead an industry acquisition of over 200 properties located adjacent to industrial facilities in Mont Belvieu, Texas.
Candace left Chevron when she co-founded The Calibre Group, a tenant representation firm. She works exclusively as a broker-advocate on behalf of tenants and has been named a “Heavy Hitter” by the Houston Business Journal on numerous occasions. Candace is an accredited LEED® professional and is dedicated to structuring leases for tenants in buildings that utilize or can be persuaded to utilize
sustainable design, construction, and operating practices. In addition, Candace works with her clients and their architectural team to implement specifications for renewable interior finishes.

Candace is a licensed broker in the State of Texas and holds a J.D. from The University of Texas School of Law in Austin, Texas. She graduated with aB.B.A. summa cum laude(3 years) from Southern Methodist University, Dallas, Texas/Madrid, Spain and attended the University of San Diego’s Institute on International and Comparative Law in Paris, France.

As a tenant advocate, she strives to structure leases for tenants in buildings that utilize or can be persuaded to utilize sustainable design, construction, and operating practices.
In addition to our in-house expertise, we work with some of the industry’s top LEED ® accredited professionals to incorporate specifications for renewable and eco-friendly interior finishes and energy efficient operating equipment. Construction and ongoing building operations are significant contributors to carbon emissions, and we share the opportunity with our tenant-clients to influence the way that interiors and buildings are designed, constructed, operated, and occupied.
Our clients’ goals with respect to sustainability range from making environmentally sensitive decisions with respect to the selection of interior finishes and construction to seeking LEED ® certification for their interiors from the U.S. Green Buildings Council.
